Parents and Guardians, 

I want to thank you for another phenomenal year at Torrey Pines. The thousands of hours of donated time from parents and community members make Torrey Pines a special place for children. Whether it be the Holiday Auction, the La Jolla Art and Wine Festival, the Walk-a-Thon or the Gala, your time spent on these events was greatly appreciated. Also invaluable are the number of hours spent in the classroom. The teachers tell me repeatedly how they value you as volunteers. Behind-the-scenes volunteers help our community run smoothly in so many ways. Thank you all. 

As we plan for next year, we are excited about our math program in grades K and 1 being expanded. We are also excited as we prepare students for the new common core standards and assessment. These new standards require we teach our students how to think critically and be prepared for both college and career. 

Lastly, a big thank you to our Foundation President, Rose Nunes, for a great year. Her collaborative spirit was greatly appreciated.
