NOVEMBER 2012
As usual, our kids wasted no time getting into the swing of things at TPES this fall! Our campus is buzzing with activities. Running club is breaking records, rehearsals for the school play are in full swing, REMS teams are gearing up for competition, chess club has great attendance, and much much more. Everywhere you look our kids are involved in amazing activities!
FOUNDATION-FUNDED PROGRAMS
Art, music, and P.E. rotations began the week of September 17. Mrs. Lin has been in the classrooms teaching technology since the second week of school. K and Grade 1 parents have learned about critical thinking in math, as well as the Core Curriculum standards which will be in effect in two years nationwide, from one of our two math consultants on Math Night. By now you should be seeing the effects these programs have had on your child. Perhaps you have noticed that your child can now juggle a soccer ball, is singing a new song or has engaged you in a conversation about the style of one of the great artists. This is truly a precious time for parents.
THANK YOU TPES VOLUNTEERS!
And of course, we are already into the holiday season. During this time of giving thanks, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have donated their time and talent to support our school. It is a huge undertaking to get all of the programs that make our school so unique up and running. We are fortunate to have such a large group of involved parents.
ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN
I would also like to thank those who have made a monetary contribution to our school either through the Annual Giving Campaign or through another fundraiser. We are lucky to have such a generous group of parents and community members. Our fundraising goal for the year is $256,000. This amount is needed to maintain our current level of programs and class size. Currently, we have raised $62,000 towards our goal. We still have a way to go, so if you are able to donate to our school, I urge you to do so.
As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
I am thankful that the school year is off to a great start!
